These fine art sessions include the use of my handmade equine wreaths and can feature a black, white, snowy, or bokeh backdrop.
Each session includes a private, online gallery with 3 high resolution digital images of your horse; perfect for sharing online, printing for your home, and including on this year's Christmas cards.
Sessions are available throughout the Pacific Northwest, but travel fees (or a minimum of 3 horses per barn) may apply to areas beyond the greater Portland, Salem, and Eugene areas.
Book with a group to save! Four or more horses scheduled for the same location and same day will each receive a discount on their session total.
Groups of 4+ horses receive a $50 discount per session.
Groups of 8+ horses receive a $100 discount per session.

EVERY SESSION INCLUDES...
Our original Deck the Stalls Sessions features one horse and include three high resolution digital photographs, delivered via a private online gallery with immediate access to download. These digital files are yours to share online, print, use on holiday cards, etc. You can generally expect two headshots and one full body portrait, but we can take custom posing requests as well.
THE CLASSIC SESSION - $395
Our original Deck the Stalls session investment is $395 for one horse and includes 3 images. We have optional a la carte session add ons available if you would like more photos, family portraits, outfits changes, etc. We also offer group discounts, which means $50-100 off your session!
All sessions include your high resolution digital downloads and a personal print release. This means the digital files are yours to print for gifts, holiday cards, etc. Professional print products, artwork, and keepsakes are available as an additional, optional purchase after the session.
We travel throughout the Willamette Valley; most areas between Portland and Eugene have no travel fee. Locations beyond this range may require a minimum of 3 horses to book, or a travel fee.
We plan to be in the Bend and Seattle areas at least once or twice each year for Deck the Stalls sessions!
Yes! This can be done in "real life" if your horses are friendly with each other, or I can also create a digital composite of your horses, where it looks like everyone is all together without the need for any squealing or flying legs!
In order to streamline the holiday session experience, we take care of all the image culling for you- I will select the best poses for editing and deliver your set amount of portraits, all ready completed and ready for download!
If you would like to receive a larger gallery with lots of options to choose from and a more involved planning experience from start to finish, I recommend exploring our Full Service Portrait Sessions!
Sure! We generally run through a few classic poses with every horse, slightly modified in a way that works best for each horse's conformation and personality, but if there's something unique you've seen and loved, we can absolutely include that. A popular example of this is the "straight on" shot. It's not standard in every gallery, but if it's your style, you'll have a chance to request that in your pre-session questionnaire.
Of course, we can never guarantee certain poses; our job is to work with the horse we have in the moment and some horses are more comfortable with certain poses than others. In any case, we've got all the options up our sleeve!

JAIMIE & JIMMY
"Always stunning photography, full service experience. You basically hand off your horse and get stunning images. The expertise in handling to get the right expression and the ability to edit out imperfections makes Ella a superior equine photographer. Send her your vision and she will be committed to making it happen."
HANNAH & MOZZIE
"Ella (and Austin) is amazing! She has a great eye, and seems to find just the right way to make every horse look as beautiful and special as us owners believe them to be, and Austin is enthusiastic, humorous, and tireless getting ears up, helping pose, etc. At horse shows, they are always happy and smiling, even if the weather is awful or have been on their feet all day. The PNW equestrian community is lucky to have them! The photos Ella has taken of my pony are among some of my most treasured moments!"
BRENDA, CHIEF & VALENTINA
"Ella is gifted, patient and tuned-in to each pet and person, capturing their personalities. There is so much effort, experience and beauty in her photography yet you feel like a close friend is behind the camera. As an equestrian and dog mom, she knows her craft. Thank you, Ella!"
KIERA & HANNAH
"Ella is a fantastic photographer and a wonderful person to work with. She is attentive to your needs but also has lots of great ideas to share with you to make the photo experience even more fun. If you're taking photos with your horses, she can always get their ears up too!! I HIGHLY recommend Ella for all photography needs!"
